**Insurance Administrator**

- Reporting to the Enterprise Risk Management Advisor and Manager, Insurance and Enterprise Risk, _
- the Insurance Administrator will be responsible for providing administrative support to the TDSB _
- insurance claims process including processing all claims, collecting/analyzing data and preparing _
- reports as well as the Insurance and Enterprise Risk department. _

**Summary of Duties**:
Receive and process all insurance claims;
Provide first level response to inquiries both internal and external regarding claims process;
Review and ensure completeness of accident/incident reports;
Process payment and settlements for insurance claims;
Liaise with staff, claimants, insurance providers to gather/provide details and documentation

regarding claims and incidents;
Provide support the Board’s Insurance renewal program including liaising with Insurance

companies, brokers, actuaries and underwriters;
Provide insurance information to schools including certificates, school council and travel

insurance;
Assist with review analysis of incident and claims;
Conduct analysis and prepare reports on trends, patterns and indicators of incidents and claims;
Provide technical expertise to internal and external clients regarding claims submission and

coverage;
Maintain accurate files and documentation for each claim and incidents;
Assist with the preparation and communication of insurance and risk management information;
Assist with the development and setting up of business processes, procedures, forms and

templates including maintaining and updating insurance information on website;
Assist with preparation of training materials for workshops, training sessions and presentations;
Assist with research and analysis of insurance programs and industry trends as required;
Assist with the administration of the Excursion and Event Facility Directory and enterprise risk

management program;
Provide back up support to staff as required; and
Other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:
Secondary school diploma plus additional courses in Risk Management with three years’

experience related to insurance claims processing, or an equivalent combination of education and
experience;
Demonstrated knowledge of property and casualty insurance and risk management processes;
Knowledge and understanding of related Board, departmental policies and procedures, collective

agreements and relevant legislation;
Proficient computer skills such as databases, spread sheets, word-processing, claims

management software;
Demonstrated sensitivity and ability to maintain confidential information;
Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills and ability to communicate information

in a sensitive, courteous manner with a customer service focus;
Ability to conduct research, analyse information and prepare reports;
Strong records management, organizational and problem-solving skills; and
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

**Assets**:
Certification in Canadian Risk Management (CRM) or Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP)

designation;

**Hours**: 35 Hours per week***
