**The Role**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
You will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:
- Accurately record and process all donations in the donor database, including cash, cheques, credit cards, and online gifts
- Promptly and appropriately acknowledge all donations, including generating and mailing thank you letters, and issue tax receipts in compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations
- Create records for new donors and make necessary changes to existing donor records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate
- Answer phone calls courteously, take donations over the phone and respond to donor inquiries
- Reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly donation batches to financial records
- Support the finance department with accounts payable and receivable tasks, including invoice processing, payment processing, and bank deposits
- Assist with monthly bank reconciliations and financial reporting
- Help prepare financial documents and reports for internal and external stakeholders, including audits
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation
- Provide general administrative support to the Operations & Finance and Fund Development teams, including data entry, filing, and correspondence
**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (finance, accounting, business or office administration) or combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, accounting software and donor management systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Financial Edge, NXT, Raisin)
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines while demonstrating adaptability to changing priorities
- Knowledge of CRA regulations related to charitable donations is an asset
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check required
- Bilingual (English and French) is an asset
