**The Course**

Excellence in Condominium Management is the first course of the new condominium management education program. Completing the course (16 hours) and passing the supervised exam will be a prerequisite for obtaining a Limited Licence.

Course Goals:

- To provide all condominium managers with foundational knowledge of the condominium industry and the role of a condominium manager in Ontario
- To inspire potential licensees by highlighting the benefits and opportunities of a career in condominium management
- To ensure awareness of the realities of the condominium management role before beginning the full education program
- To set a consistent standard of excellence for condominium managers in Ontario

Course Structure:

- Online self-assessment
- Self-directed online learning to obtain basic knowledge of the overall program, role of the condominium manager, and the condominium industry
- Mandatory instructor-led sessions to reflect on knowledge-based content; develop a personal development plan; and introduce frameworks for communication, collaboration, teamwork, and decision-making
- Online proctored one-hour (1h) exam at the end of session

**Expected Commitment**

The CMRAO is looking for facilitators to be available throughout the year to deliver the instructor-led portions of the Excellence in Condominium Management course and be available to the learners for virtual office hours.

At the start of the course there will be a one-hour (1h) session in which the facilitator will introduce the course, explain the methods of learning, identify the resources available to learners, and will establish specific virtual office hours.

The facilitator will have to be available to answer learners’ questions through virtual office hours at least two (2) hour per session.

Throughout the course there are seven (6) hours of instructor-led learning.

Facilitator responsibilities include, among others:

- Accurately describe activity setup and expectations
- Foster learner participation in activities to reinforce previous learning
- Guide productive discussions that drive learners to find answers on their own
- Direct learners to relevant tools and resources
- Provide constructive actionable feedback on learner performance and knowledge

The CMRAO will provide training on using the LMS platform.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Minimum three years’ experience as a condominium manager
- Minimum three years’ experience as trainer or course facilitator
- Knowledge of the Condominium Management Services Act and Regulations
- Knowledge of the Condominium Act Technically proficient with Microsoft Office tools including MS Teams

Facilitators will be independent contractors contracted for a period of one (1) year with possibility of renewal.
