**Job Description** About MLSE Launchpad**; MLSE LaunchPad is a 42,000 sq. ft. Sport For Development facility where youth facing barriers use sport to recognize and reach their potential. Supported by MLSE’s professional sports teams
- the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto Argonauts and Toronto FC, it is the first facility of its kind in North America. As a collaborative space promoting social change by leveraging sport, education and research, our programming is focused on four pillars: Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, Ready for School and Ready for Work. - ** Making MLSE LaunchPad the best place it can be**; Fostering a culture of warmth, acceptance and fun at MLSE LaunchPad while ensuring adherence to expectations, and that respect and kindness are prioritized.
- ** Prioritizing safety and FUN;** In tandem with the Supervisors, Youth Mentors are responsible for making sure that youth are safe at all times when in the space (on court and off).
- ** Assisting with programming as required;** Sometimes, we need a little extra support. Youth Mentors should be ready to jump on court to support in program delivery when required.
- ** Taking appropriate action to deal with incidents, problems and emergencies;** When working with youth, things are going to happen, and Youth Mentors need to be prepared to deal with any type of issue quickly and calmly. From bullying to strangers in the building, Youth Mentors are first on the scene to make sure everyone is ok.
- ** Providing support for youth; **Sometimes we just need someone to listen or to care. As a Youth Mentor, your job is to be that person. Whether just being a friendly face or connecting youth to services and supports, Youth Mentors are role models and friends.
- ** Participating in special projects and other related duties as required**; We are one big team and we support each other on projects, proposals and events. Everything is “our job”.

**You have experience working with youth**
As a Youth Mentor, experience working with youth of all ages is a must. We need people who understand the city, community and the realities facing youth today. Someone who is relatable, kind, understanding, knowledgeable with regards to positive youth development, comfortable getting to know youth and with a passion for working in community is a perfect fit for this role.
