In order to keep pace we are looking for an Collections Specialist to join our team

**Collections Specialist**

As our new Collections Specialist, you will become part of a high-functioning team, where our team of accounting professionals provide key support to our various business units.

You will collect payments from customer accounts, assist in resolving account disputes, process credit card payments, and support efforts to maintain and reduce delinquent account balances by adherence to the corporate collection policy. Under the supervision of the Credit Manager, you will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing overdue accounts to determine when collection and/or legal support is warranted.

Specifically, in this role, you’ll own these responsibilities:

- Contacts customers with outstanding accounts to determine reasons for overdue account balances. Provides statements of request to account holders and issues reminder notices and collection letters to customers as required. Addresses customer inquiries relating outstanding invoices.
- Researches and addresses account disputes, gathering information from internal departments to attain resolution.
- Resolves and clears accounts with service holds immediately so service can resume.
- Performs customer account spreads by matching credit and debit on an account, as required.
- Coordinates regularly with sales and customer service teams to complete investigations, identify correct billing addresses and address customer inquiries around billing.
- Evaluates and analyzes overdue accounts, in conjunction and with direction from the Credit Manager, to determine which accounts are sent to collection and/or legal agencies.
- Acts as relief back up for Cash Application and Switchboard positions as needed.
