**Summary/Objective**
The IT Technician provides fast and useful technical assistance on computer systems. Reporting to the IT Manager, this role will be responsible to answer queries on basic technical issues and to offer advice to solve them.
An excellent IT Technician must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution. They must also be customer
- oriented and patient to deal with difficult customers.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Follows up on outstanding requests and ensure timely resolution.
- Creates accounts and configures hardware as part of on-boarding process.
- Provides technical assistance and support for incoming concerns and issues related to systems, software and hardware.
- Works through the problem-solving process with customers, empowering them to do the same in the future whenever possible.
- Runs diagnostic problems to resolve problems.
- Directs unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
- Supports audio and video equipment in conference rooms.
- Manages and monitors internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Other duties may be added and/or assigned as needed.
- Complies with the Occupational Health & Safety regulations and health & safety policies of the company and inform management of unsafe work conditions.
**Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree or post-secondary diploma in IT, Computer Science or related stream with minimum 1 years’ work experience as Help Desk Technician or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Knowledge of Windows 7, Mac OS X, Google Collaboration Apps and Office 365.
- Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users.
- Active Directory maintenance and Exchange 2007 & 2010.
- Mac and PC hardware, Printers, scanners, computer peripherals, Mobile devices (iOS, Android) knowledge.
- Client PC connectivity - ethernet, TCP/IP and VPN working knowledge.
- File server knowledge.
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
- 2 years+ experience working in a Windows/Mac environment
- Very strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, able to identify issues, propose viable solutions, and implement appropriate changes.
- High attention to detail with time management skills.
- Results-oriented and organized, focused on producing high quality work within tight timelines.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills in English. Knowledge of Spanish would be an asset.
- High energy team player, with a positive can-do attitude, flexible and adaptable to change.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $50,000.00 per year
