**ATTA Elevators - Payroll Specialist**
We are an independent elevator & escalator maintenance, repair, manufacturing and installation company with operations across North American through both M&A and greenfield expansion. The Payroll Specialist will report to the Manager, Finance & Payroll and will be responsible for payroll processing for nine companies.
**Main duties and responsibilities**:
▪ Ensure the accurate and timely execution of bi-weekly payroll - creating, processing and finalizing pay cycles for salary and hourly employees
▪ Review, update and adjust union dues and union benefits rates in Ceridian on a regular basis
▪ Process onboarding for new hires
▪ Process employees’ termination and prepare ROEs upon request
▪ Garnishment setup, withholding from employees’ payroll and 3rd party payments
▪ Maintaining employee vacation, holiday, sick records as well as managing vacation payout
▪ Investigating problems relating to employee’s pay; respond to payroll inquiries from employees
▪ Process payroll adjustments upon request
▪ Monthly union dues and union benefits reconciliation and preparation/ submission of remittances to respective locals (8 unions across Canada)
▪ Prepare and file all relevant remittances for WSIB, EHT, union dues and union benefits
▪ Responsible for providing and analyzing payroll related matter reports
▪ Reconciling, analyzing and balancing all year-end data for T4 purposes
▪ Maintaining detailed records and documentation of payroll updates for year-end audit in accordance with statutory requirements and company policies
▪ Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in Bamboo HR portal
▪ Communicate with Ceridian representatives as needed
▪ Additional general administrative tasks as needed
**Qualifications**:
▪ 1-3 years of payroll experience in unionized environment
▪ Payroll Certificate or Diploma; CPC designation considered an asset
▪ Experience with Ceridian Powerpay
▪ Proficient in MS Excel and MS Outlook
▪Excellent organization and time management skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
