Head Sommelier/ Beverage Manager

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Curating wine lists and menus
- Oversee cleanliness of staff and physical bar area, paying special attention to possible health hazards and code violations.
- Review sales and beverage costs, and reconcile any discrepancies in accounting. Ensure proper cash management.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and according to company guidelines.
- Create pairing suggestions for menu items.
- Educate staff on wine nuances.
- Oversee the preparation of beverages and ensure quality of product served.
- Responsible for the liquor inventory and program.
- Perform other duties, as required.
**Skills/Abilities**
- Ability to create tasteful food and wine pairings.
- Extensive knowledge of different wines and which regions produce each type.
- Knowledge of local vineyards and wineries.
- Understanding of the winemaking process.
- Good communication skills.
- Availability to work during opening hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Prolonged periods of standing
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
**Education and Experience**
- 3-5 year’s previous experience as a Sommelier.
- Certification as a Sommelier is an asset
- Smart Serve is required.
**Salary**: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
