CASA Mental Health is an established non-profit organization delivering holistic, culturally-safe wrap-around mental health services to Albertans and their families. CASA provides mental health service to the missing middle - mental health treatment for diagnosed children and youth, in between prevention and promotion in primary and community care, and acute treatment in hospital.

CASA’s team of mental health professionals are trauma experts committed to delivering service in collaboration with community partners. This includes assessment and treatment for up to 4,000 children, youth and their families each year, from community outreach settings to intensive treatment programs.

**About the Role**

The Professional Practice Lead - School-Based Programming provides coaching, mentoring and consultation for CASA’s clinical staff and for external service providers from partner agencies. They help these groups incorporate evidence-informed, best practice models into clinical practice, and may also provide clinical supervision to provisional psychologists adhering to the code of ethics and practice standards.

The Professional Practice Lead will:

- Supports the delivery of high-quality clinical services by providing competency assessment, coaching, mentoring and clinical supervision to members of the assigned clinical discipline.
- Provides professional development training to CASA staff and partner service providers to ensure a holistic and high-quality model of assessment and treatment planning, and provides content expertise in the development of education materials when asked and appropriate.
- Acts as a resource to team members and external service providers from community partnerships and school divisions on issues related to specific areas of expertise.
- Supports the development of children’s mental health knowledge and skills by observing and coaching individual performance in the delivery of mental health supports and services to children and their families;
- Works on a curriculum focused on various knowledge areas essential to providing mental health services to children and adolescents.
- In collaboration with supervisees, supports the development of supervision plans, oversees the therapists’ development and implementation of mental health assessment and therapeutic treatment plans, and completes the appropriate documentation to support the supervisees’ registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
- Ensures a holistic and high-quality model of assessment and treatment planning that is family-centred, trauma-informed and inclusive of biological, psychological, social and cultural factors for patients and their families.
- Collaborates with internal and external managers or supervisors to educate staff and external service providers about clinical practices.
- Participates in program and clinical team meetings.
- Works in collaboration with diverse psychologists to provide culturally-sensitive and safe training and education.
- Identifies service delivery improvements and suggests enhancements with the lens of evidence-informed practice.
- Regularly works with CASA’s Clinical Managers to implement any required improvements and new clinical program models.

**Qualifications**
- Graduate degree in psychology.
- Minimum of 10 years of direct clinical practice in child and youth mental health.
- Demonstrated superior competence in children’s mental health assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
- Must be a member in good standing with their respective professional association/college.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

**Conditions of Employment**
- A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
- May be required to use the interventions learned in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training.
