Elk Island Public School Division invites applicants for the position of Assistant Principal at Davidson Creek Elementary effective the 2023-24 school year.

Davidson Creek Elementary serves approximately 625 students in kindergarten to Grade 6, with 28 teaching staff and 14 support staff.?The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB.

The mission of Davidson Creek Elementary is to prepare and inspire students in a diverse global community by encouraging creativity and growth.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
Fostering the values, vision and mission of our school community.

Building relationships with students, staff and families to maintain a positive school culture.

Fostering student leadership opportunities such as running clubs, student advisory group, and other extra-curricular activities.

Supporting responsible student conduct through trauma informed practices and appropriate disciplinary procedures.

Setting, maintaining and modeling high standards of professional conduct.

Developing staff leadership and modelling professional learning and a growth mindset

Developing innovative strategies to increase student engagement, including the necessary supports for the success of students in inclusive settings.

Maintaining high visibility and accessibility during the school day, including classroom visitations and recess walk abouts.

Supervision, observation and evaluation of classified staff.

Effective verbal and written communication with a variety of groups and individuals.

Overseeing the physical building and log maintenance requests, as necessary.

Supporting staff in managing educational technology.

Maintaining emergency preparedness protocols.

Assisting with timetabling, budgeting, staffing, and setting the plans for the upcoming school year.

Liaising with student transportation.

Creating daily morning video announcements which support our school goals and which feature members of our school community.

There will be a small teaching assignment attached to this position.

**Experience, Training, Requirements**:
Valid Permanent Alberta Teaching Certificate

Minimum five years successful teaching experience

Master’s degree or nearing completion of a Master’s program would be considered an asset

Experience as an Assistant Principal would be considered an asset
