**Job description**

STRABAG Inc., is a subsidiary of STRABAG SE, a European-based technology group for construction services. STRABAG Inc. has extensive experience in large-scale underground hard and soft ground construction projects. We provide expertise in ground engineering and tunnel excavation with qualified personnel.

STRABAG is actively seeking a HR Generalist for our Canadian division, where he/she can utilize their extensive knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization. The HR Generalist will concentrate efforts ont the administration, recruitment cycles and coordination of immigration documents for Canada wide projects. As well as other duties and responsibilties as they pertain to People and Culture in the workplace.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- **Recruitment**_
- Review open positions and determine method for recruitment
- Initiate and prepare job descriptions as directed by management
- Create job postings and use creative methods of advertising locally and internationally
- Access international recruitment options in regards to Intra-Company Transferees or Labour Market Opinions.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with project management
- Perform reference and background checks
- Meet with new hires and process all hire documents
- **Immigration**_
- Prepare work permit documents for new hires entering Canada
- Prepare Intra-Company Transferee POE packages
- Monitor immigration files for upcoming expiry dates and employment requirements
- Coordinate translation requests when necessary
- **Maintenance of Employee Files an HR Database**_
- Communicate new hire information
- Assist with the maintenance of employee records for Canadian and Expatriate staff
- Add new hires and process terminations
- Update employee job status, placement and pay records
- **Development, Implementation and Communication of Human Resources Policies and Procedures**_
- In conjunction with HR colleagues review and revise current policies
- Ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with government regulations and statutory legislation.
- Maintain positive relationships with third parties including government agencies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- International recruitment methods and Canadian immigration legislation
- Demonstrated interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
- Results focused with a strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated, persistent and flexible
- Adaptability to rapidly changing demands

**Qualifications**:

- **2** + years’ experience as an HR Recruitment Specialist
- College or University Diploma in Human Resources
- Immigration Consultant Certificate is an asset
- Construction Industry experience is preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of professionalism are required
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Travel within the GTA may be required

Pay: $57,000.00-$63,000.00 per year
