ACCOUNTING CLERK - TORONTO
As part of the accounting team, the accounting clerk will report directly to the Accounting Manager (based in Toronto) with a dotted line to local management. The accounting clerk is primarily responsible for processing and reconciling accounts receivable. Other duties will include reconciliation of monthly broker statements, preparation of daily bank deposits, filing, reconciling, entering, and verifying transactions, and other related duties.
**As an integral member of the team, you will bring**:
- Good knowledge of basic accounting concepts
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Efficiency working as a part of a team, or independently, as required
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills in all areas of work
- High level of personal integrity, strong work ethic and initiative
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to adapt to and learn new software
**Accountabilities**:
- Reconcile current accounts due to Trisura
- Respond to customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations and work effectively with underwriters to ensure collection of receivables
- Administrative and other duties as required
**Qualifications**:
- Successful completion of college degree with an accounting focus
- Minimum 1 year work experience in accounting or related field
