MHHC has an amazing opportunity for someone in the middle of their accounting career and is looking for mentorship as they seek to obtain their designation. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the incumbent would be a key member of our full-cycle accounting team and will partner with departments across the organization to provide support to drive our financial processes and results. The incumbent should be as enthusiastic as the accounting team, detail-oriented, and known to roll up their sleeves to go beyond expectations in a fast-paced work environment. This role will be responsible for providing accurate, timely, and relevant information to internal and external stakeholders of the organization.

**As the Financial Analyst, you will**:

- Ensure adherence to generally acceptable accounting principles (GAAP), Accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations (ASNPO) and established policies and procedures.
- Foster innovation, curiosity, and problem-solving to support our emerging conservation organization.
- Examine and interpret data to produce useful and meaningful financial planning and performance reports.
- Provide insight into problem identification, data interpretation, and the identification, investigation, testing and refinement of potential solutions to address systemic barriers to efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide support for financial forecasting, budget maintenance, reporting and operational metrics tracking.
- Create financial data and financial models to support decision making.
- Identify, design, and suggest improvements which produce efficiency of various financial services, systems, processes, and procedures.
- Provide support to the accounting team.
- Other duties as assigned

**You and Your Experience**:

- Post-secondary education in a related discipline such as management, economics, finance, public or business administration from a recognized academic institution. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Are enrolled in the Chartered Professional Accountants program.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
- Three (3) years of experience working with complex financial analysis and data, financial forecasting, reporting and operational metrics tracking.
- Three (3) years of experience interpreting and translating financial metrics.
- Three (3) years of experience working with interdisciplinary teams and supporting multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience using the finance and accounting modules of a comprehensive ERP system. Great Plains is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer programs (Outlook, Excel, Share Point and Word)
- Must be able to prioritize workflow and manage multiple priorities in a fast-pasted environment with the utmost attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to work independently and as an effective member of the overall team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills required.
- Are enthusiastic and ready to learn.
- Have the ability to communicate with multiple levels of the organization.
- Are a team player who values diversity.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $58,900.00-$80,680.00 per year
