If so, consider these exciting opportunities with the Long-Term Care Staffing Supply Branch and Strategic Initiatives Branch to identify and respond to a range of policy, program and impact issues with the Ministry of Long-Term Care.

The Staffing Supply Branch is responsible for leading projects that support the government's historic staffing plan and health human resources strategies to support the long-term care system. The team works with other ministries and external partners to develop and implement education and training initiatives for staffing in long-term care homes and to support an engaged and qualified workforce in the long-term care sector.

The Strategic Initiatives Branch leads policy development and design programs that contribute to resident care and quality of life, and supports staffing and innovation in the long-term care sector. This includes work related to increasing direct care time for residents, staffing qualifications, and staffing data collection.

Effective April 1, 2024 the salary range for this position is $71,563 to $100,052 per year in compliance with AMAPCEO collective agreement provisions. The new rates, effective retroactive to April 1, 2024, were recently confirmed and dates for implementation of the new salary rates are still to be determined.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this job, you will:

- Support all aspects of policy and program development and evaluation
- Contribute to the development of policy and program materials to inform senior management decision making
- Support the development of Long-Term Care programs and the ministry's strategic and operational priorities
- Support consultations with internal and external stakeholders on policy and program development and implementation;
- Conduct research and analysis, and provide reporting on best practices and barriers related to Long-Term Care policies and programs;
- Support the development and preparation of briefing notes, contentious issues notes, Cabinet and Treasury Board Submission and provide input on communications materials

- You have knowledge of policy and legislative processes
- You have experience in using policy and research tools, methods and techniques
- You support change by seeking out new ideas, developing innovations, conducting risk assessments and creating strategic solutions

- You can contribute to the development of innovative programs, implementation plans and standards/guidelines.
- You demonstrate sound judgment, sensitivity and a high degree of political acuity.
- You can assess the effectiveness of policies/programs against Ministry initiatives and goals.

**Relationship Management and Facilitation Skills**:

- You have expertise in creating and managing stakeholder relationships
- You can consult and provide appropriate advice on policies, standards and programs to stakeholders

**Communication Skills**:

- You can respond to issues, provide recommendations and prepare reports using standard computer software
- You can create, lead and present research findings to senior management.
