**Position**

Reporting to the Lead, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Response, the Sexual Violence Response Coordinator (SVRC) will play a pivotal role in supporting the development, coordination and implementation of initiatives related to the University's policy and strategy to prevent and respond to SGBV. This significant coordination role will include administering and monitoring the mandatory SGBV training program as required by the Government of Alberta; coordinating the Options Navigation Network (ONN). In addition, the SVRC will play a critical role in coordinating, implementing, rolling out, and administering new initiatives related to sexual and gender-based violence.

The SVRC will organize and execute engagement and training activities across the University, to establish an authentic and open connection between the university and it community members, including students, staff and faculty, particularly those from equity-denied groups, The goals of these engagements are to stay in touch with current and emerging issues related to SGBV and to gather recent and relevant feedback.

The SVRC will help the Lead, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Response to develop regular presentations and in person training opportunities, tailoring the content to the appropriate audience. The SVRC will also assist with refining the University's mandatory training framework, repackaging training for different external audiences, and adapting the training content to be available to all 26 Alberta post-secondaries, Alberta employers, national and international audiences.

As part of the Vice Provost (Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) portfolio, the SVRC will be instrumental in 1) ensuring that equity denied groups are well served and recognized in relation to their experience with the University's response to SGBV; and 2) that the principles developed to respond to SGBV will be adaptable to other forms of interpersonal harm, including racial harassment, bullying, and other interpersonal violence.

The SVRC will have exceptional communication skills, will have experience gathering, interpreting, and sharing data, and will work in alignment with the following principles: 1) transparency, honesty, and respect; 2) equal accountability; 3) inclusion and diversity; 4) visible learning; 5) trauma-informed approach to reduce harm.

The SVRC will assist the Lead, SGBV Response in developing, implementing, and tracking progress on initiatives related to the prevention of or response to sexual and gender-based - and other forms of interpersonal - violence. The position is critical to the University's ability to meet its external regulatory requirements, (for example under the Human Rights Act, FOIPA, Occupational Health and Safety and other expectations to maintain a safe learning and working environment) and internal policy and reporting requirements (for example, SGBV Policy and Procedures, SV Management Audit). The SVRC will be responsible for assisting the Lead, SGBV Response in implementing and coordinating University-wide initiatives, campaigns and training, as well as tracking and reporting on progress.
