If so, the Safe and Healthy Communities Section within the Social Development Branch is looking to hire you

With a focus on the City of Edmonton’s Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will:

- Provide leadership and support in the coordination, management and implementation of Gender Based Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention Initiatives and related complex multi partner projects
- Provide project management leadership and support to advance projects and initiatives
- Lead in the development of associated outcomes and performance measures /targets of projects
- Establish and maintain positive collaborative working relationships with internal partners, counterparts in other orders of government and organizations, and community stakeholders
- Create public engagement plans and processes according to City Policy & Procedures
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts and project teams that support and advance related projects and initiatives

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of a Master's degree in Public Administration, Planning/Policy Studies, Sociology, Human Ecology, Social Work, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum 3 years professional social planning experience, research/analysis, and strategy/policy development in the areas of community and social issues. Experience in a large/similar organization or public sector is an asset
- Professional social planning experience must include 3 years demonstrated proficiency in project management strategies, processes and systems
- Minimum 3 years experience developing collaborative partnerships/relationships, large public and/or stakeholder consultations, and public engagement processes and events

OR
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Planning/Policy Studies, Sociology, Human Ecology, Social Work, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum 5 years professional social planning experience, research/analysis, and strategy/policy development in the areas of community and social issues. Experience in a large/similar organization or public sector is an asset
- Professional social planning experience must include 5 years demonstrated proficiency in project management strategies, processes and systems
- Minimum 5 years experience developing collaborative partnerships/relationships, large public and/or stakeholder consultations, and public engagement processes and events

Additional Requirements:

- Significant understanding of equity-seeking communities, their history, culture and current environment. Personal value base compatible with diversity and inclusion principles, GBA+ and human rights advocacy
- Knowledge of various contemporary issues related to anti-racism, social justice and other geopolitical impacts of various diasporic communities including Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Calls to Action, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) Calls for Justice
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, including technical and contractual communication, report writing and presentations to corporate partners, community members, and colleagues
- Ability to prepare and present comprehensive project plans, public engagement plans, and communications plans
- Excellent leadership, team building and interpersonal skills required
- Significant skills with the Google platform, web site management and techniques/tools (social media) to enhance public engagement, research and analysis, and communication
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent) is an asset
- May be required to arrange own transportation, to be reimbursed in accordance with City of Edmonton policy. This may require business auto insurance
- Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
