**Postdoctoral Fellow - Genomics of Nitrogen Use Efficiency in Crop Rotations**:
**Primary Purpose**: The goal of this project is to improve the nitrogen-use efficiency of two crop species in a model rotation (lentil-wheat) through a multi-species breeding strategy designed to encourage genotypic complementarities and enhance nitrogen uptake across the rotation. We will use 1) genomic sequencing and targeted identification of new genes and 2) development of genomic prediction strategies to assist breeding for climate-smart crop rotations, to reduce GHG emissions derived from synthetic fertilizer use. Work will be carried out through the Department of Plant Sciences/Crop Development Centre at the University of Saskatchewan.

**Education**:Applicants are expected to hold a PhD in a related field (within the last 5 years). Previous experience in nitrogen cycling, soil science, and/or plant breeding/genetics is desired.

***Skills**: Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required. The applicant must demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills, with an aptitude for teamwork and collaboration within a multidisciplinary research team. Eligible to obtain a Saskatchewan driver’s license.
