Program Assistant

**SUMMARY OF POSITION**
The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting the Program Coordinator in executing key components of the Family Resource Network activities. This position will provide support in data collection and reporting, as well as information and orientation sessions for community partners working with immigrant and new Canadian children/youth/parents and families.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assist the Coordinator in conducting a thorough formal needs assessment using the Risk and Protective Factors Survey for immigrant and new Canadian children/youth/families in the areas of three core service delivery domains - child development and wellbeing, caregiver capacity building support, social connections (connection) and support
- Assist the Coordinator in preparing information and orientation sessions
- Support partnering organizations (Spokes) in identifying resources available for caregivers, children/youth/parents families
- Provide support in ensuring databases are up to date and preparing data analytics for program reporting
- Participate in program promotion, orientation, and client recruitment activities
- Assist with program evaluation and outcome measurement tools
- Assist with regular reporting to funders and the Department Manager
- Assist in the management of all record-keeping effectively and submit paperwork in a timely and efficient manner
- Provide the Program Coordinator with the necessary information to compile statistical reports
- When necessary, consult with the Program Coordinator and department manager on issues related to program/participants
- Participate in CIWA events as required
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator and Department Manager including requests for additional paid hours on a temporary basis when needed

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-secondary education
- Two to three years experience in an administrative capacity - not-for-profit experience is an asset
- Ability to research and access resources
- Advanced computer skills
- Strong communication skills including writing skills
- Appreciation and knowledge of cultural diversity/experience working with an immigrant population
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High motivation and positive attitude
