**Health Safety and Environment (HSE) SITE MANAGER (Bilingual or French Required/Location Negotiable)**

**Position Summary**:
Our team is currently seeking an HSE Manager to cross-shift with the Lead HSE Manager on an exploration project located in the James Bay Region in Quebec.

Environment, knowledge of related Quebec legislation, comfort in field environments, and be motivated and self-sufficient.

**Responsibilities of the HSE Site Managers**:

- Promote and manage the Health and Safety Program as the cross-shift to the Lead HSE Manager on-site.
- Follow all local, provincial, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
- Update HSE Policies and Procedures for the project on an as-needed basis.
- Manage and ensure compliance to the project Health, Safety and Environment Program and co-chair the site HSE Committee meetings.
- Manage the HSE software and HSEMS for the project.
- Identify and implement relevant risk mitigation and loss prevention strategies.
- Monitor, respond to, and report environmental impacts related to the project.
- Provide site-specific safety training and orientation for new workers, provide guidance and advice to sub-contractors as needed.
- Respond to incidents and conduct incident investigations as required.
- Assist with or lead emergency evacuations as required.
- Communicate HSE-related information, requirements, and non-compliance orders to sub-contractors on-site.
- Maintain accurate safety records and metrics - record, track, and report trends and incident investigation outcomes.
- Complete safety documentation such as, but not limited to: Field Safety Manuals, Emergency Response Plans, Activity Hazard Assessments, Job Safety Analysis, Incident Reports, Incident Investigations, Corrective Actions, and Safe Work Practices.
- Lead daily tailgate meetings.
- Complete daily inspections and internal audits as required; attend all compliance and safety update meetings.
- Wear and safely use a variety of personal protective Equipment (PPE). Including: respirators, skin, eye, ear, hand, and foot protection in a variety of combinations depending on work duties.

**Working Conditions**:

- A wide range of temperatures, both indoors and outdoors, and in all weather conditions
- Atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemical, physical, and psychological hazards.
- Work in elevated noise-level environments, confined and/or restricted spaces, and areas with no cell service.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Comfort driving on rough terrain in a variety of weather conditions.

**Qualifications**:

- 4+ years of experience working in Health, Safety and Environment roles
- Knowledge and understanding of La Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST) and worker’s compensation legislations
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and complex environment
- Be a proactive and flexible team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to reassess priorities on an ongoing basis
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Bilingual in French and English or French speaking
- Standard First Aid and CPR an asset
- Physical ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Experience working around or with heavy machinery, in industrial or field environments
- CRST or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- An understanding of exploration drill programs and associated on-site activities
- Familiarity with safety software an asset
