**Job Function**:
A business analyst is a professional who collects, analyses, and converts complex raw data and comprehensive information into written reports. They are responsible for developing reports based on team member requirements, programming queries to pull data, and working with departments to define reporting needs. The business analyst will ensure that reports are easy for the average reader or non-technical employees to understand.

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Proficient in Power BI, SQL querying, SQL scripting, using filters and graphs for better understanding of data.
- Design data models to transform raw data into meaningful insights
- Create dashboards and interactive visual reports
- Analyze data and present data through reports that aid decision-making
- Provides support to teams or management by collecting and analyzing data and reporting results based on the needs of end users.
- Ability to summarize, analyze and communicate complex data in a simplified manner to deliver meaningful insights
- Collaborates with Business Analysts and department teams to ensure that the organization’s reporting needs are met.
- Assist in the administration of the data warehouse and reporting SQL servers to ensure efficiency, security, integrity and availability.
- Create datasets and/or reports for analytics, including but not limited to data cubes for business reviews and/or analytics.
- Source, manage and implement data from third parties, as required
- Triage incoming work requests for reports, data management, and user permissions to ensure all pertinent information is recorded, appropriate deliverable dates are obtained, proper authorization is given, and business analyst is assigned.
- Design, develop, and automate operational reports, analytical dashboards, or deliver ad-hoc findings based on business requirements.
- Run, verify, and dispatch scheduled reports this may involve manual data extraction or making connections to available data sources on various platforms
- Communicate with various departments and report requestors to define and collect the data required
- Develop, test, document and implement new reports or modifications to existing reports including testing and execution of database recovery processes
- Participate as a key contributor to Mainstreet’s Data Management Committee. Using expert knowledge of databases and systems provide value-added information and guidance in order to support the committee mandates and goals.

- Related university or college degree/diploma
- Experience in the Financial Services Industry
- Proficient with SQL Server and related tools including intermediate SQL: query skills for building stored procedures, views and adhoc database views, creating and managing reports in Reporting Services and building dashboards in Power BI.
