The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in Business and/or Accounting required
- Completion of Canadian Payroll Association courses preferred
**Skill, Ability and Experience**:
- Intermediate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft software products required
- Ability to meet deadlines, complete tasks with mínimal supervision, set work priorities and work with varied interruptions required
- Ability to collaborate with others and work in a fast-paced team environment required
- Previous Payroll experience in a unionized environment preferred
- High attention to detail required
- Experience working with Meditech Payroll/Personnel modules and an HRIS preferred
- Experience with computerized staff scheduling preferred
**Principal Duties**:
- Work with the payroll team to import pay from the scheduling system, analyze, adjust, investigate anomalies and finalize before posting the bi-weekly payroll for the hospital
- Create and upload payment file to the bank
- Preparation and submission of Records of Employment for the organization
- Troubleshoot payroll issues brought forward by Managers and/or front-line staff
- Co-ordinate with Human Resources to ensure employee file information is correct
- Assist with Reconciliation of employee benefits and varied deductions
- Participates in department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
- Process reports and billing for Unions
- Provide vacation coverage for full-time staff
- Other related duties as assigned
