**Administrative and Accounting Assistant (full-time)**

**Hourly wage: $17-$19 (depends on experience)**

We are a small CPA office in Richmond, BC, looking for an experienced Office/Accounting assistant. We require people with office, bookkeeping, or accounting experience. Preference will be given to those with work experience at an accounting business as well as extensive knowledge with Quickbooks (Desktop), MS Excel, and Word.

**OFFICE ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES**:

- Provide general administrative support - answering phones and taking messages; greeting clients; photocopying; scanning; faxing; scheduling and organizing meetings and boardroom set-up.
- Maintain and update appointments and task calendars using Google.
- Maintain, upkeep, organize, and store paper and electronic files.
- Prepare documents and letters, including Excel spreadsheets.
- Prepare paper or electronic documents for clients.
- Assist clients to write cheques; collect cash payments from clients.

**ACCOUNTING DUTIES**:

- Calculate payroll deductions for monthly clients.
- Prepare and process monthly/quarterly/annually government filings such as payroll, PST, GST, WCB, ROE using Quickbooks and Excel.
- Prepare and process T4, T4A, T5 slips using Quickbooks, Cantax, and Excel.
- Assist accountants to photocopy and assemble personal income tax (T1) packages during tax season.
- Assist accountants to sort, organize and add all T1 clients’ receipts, prepare schedules using Excel or Word as T1 supporting documents to T1 files during tax season

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Accounting degree or diploma preferrable
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles.
- Working experience in an office environment
- Previous working experience in a busy accounting firm
- Extensive working experience in using Quickbooks (desktop), MS Excel and Word
- Ability to prioritize, work on multi tasks while meeting tight deadlines and remain motivated and positive attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and client service skills
- Detailed oriented, organized, and careful to numbers
- Professional manner and commit to work responsibly and ethically
- Willing to be flexible and available for working overtime and weekends as needed especially during tax season.

**LANGUAGES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:

- Proficient (verbal and written) in **English, Mandarin and/or Cantonese**:

- Canadian citizen or permanent resident
