**Residential Mental Health Housing Coordinator**

We are seeking Housing Coordinator to oversees all daily operations for their respective House, along with all reporting functions and supervision of staff, volunteers and students. In addition, the Housing Coordinator also monitors all care planning and implementation and provides direct service to residents, supporting and mentoring residents living with multiple, and chronic physical and Mental health challenges. Primary consideration is given to ensuring a safe, accessible and inclusive working and living environment for both residential program participants and staff.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Participate in recruitment, selection and hiring of Residential Housing program staff.
- Provide orientation, training, mentoring, coaching, supervision and support, including progressive discipline of House staff and volunteers.
- Participate in development of related policies, procedures, budgets, program planning and agency strategic planning.
- Facilitate regular meetings with Residential Housing staff and document minutes.
- Assess and provide individual and group support to assist with staff skill development.
- Ensure adherence to CMHA policies, Health and Safety and Labour Standards and all applicable legislation such as BC Human Rights Code.
- Ensure timely completion of monthly petty cash forms, mileage expense forms, statistics and timesheets.
- Support preparation of monthly work schedules for staff, a minimum of 14 days in advance of the month.
- Monitor and ensure the highest standards of records keeping, including daily logs, incident reports, medication dispensing logs, etc. This includes safeguarding privacy and confidentiality of resident information, daily logs, care plans and critical incident reports.
- Share responsibility for Residential Emergency On-Call Rotation with 2 other peer Residential Housing Coordinators. This will include holding a 24/7 Emergency On-Call phone, responding to emergency calls from residential program staff and working emergency shifts, as needed, when alternate coverage cannot be found.
- Regularly inspect house, property and adjoining areas for any risk hazards, monitor maintenance schedule and tasks to ensure completion in timely fashion, and check on first aid and emergency preparedness supplies.
- Provide practical assistance and support, assisting and mentoring residents with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, money management, interpersonal skills and community integration, making and keeping appointments and other related skills as they arise. This includes monitoring a budget.
- Promote self-reliance and independence by supporting residents to participate in their own care plan in collaboration with CMHA staff, Community Psychiatric Services team, and clinicians. Also assisting residents to _achieve_ the goals in their care plans in order to maintain recovery from mental health and addiction issues and to build their self-esteem.
- Provide crisis prevention and intervention to diffuse hostility with an authentic appreciation and understanding of the importance of receiving residents _“_**where they are at**_”_, without judgment or condemnation. Ensure clear communication and provide opportunities for conflict resolution.
- Coordinate the delivery of, check for accuracy of and administer medications and treatments in accordance with the CMHA Policy and Procedures.
- Prepare weekly menus, cook and serve daily communal meals in partnership with residents and accordance with Food Safe Standards. Monitor and shop for food supplies.
- Daily cleaning duties such as cleaning food preparation area and equipment including fridge, freezer, stove and oven, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning staff bathroom and removing garbage.
- Assist with orientation of new residents and foster an atmosphere of mutual inter-dependence and learning by encouraging peers and residents to share their skills and knowledge.
- Facilitate social and recreational programs in the home and encourage residents to participate in community programs or events, to build social networks.
- Liaise with Community Psychiatric Services or other related mental health, addiction or other government or community supports, as needed.
- Liaise with local, maintenance contractors to facilitate repairs, as needed.
- Attend all monthly All Staff Meetings and quarterly Residential Housing Staff Meetings, unless special exception is granted by Program Operations Manager or their delegate.
