The Director of Supported Housing Programs will be responsible for directing and coordinating our Supported Housing Programs, overseeing a team of Managers and ensuring the highest standards of care and support for our clients. Reporting to the Executive Director, Programs and Properties, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our organization and fostering collaborative relationships within the community.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
  1. Fundamental Principles:
    Ensure operations align with Coast’s Mission, Vision, and Values, as well as provincial legislation and best practices in mental health care.
    Uphold principles of psychosocial rehab and recovery in service delivery.
  2. Leadership:
    Develop a strategic vision for the Department in alignment with Coast’s Strategic Plan.
    Act as a representative of Coast in community engagements and activities.
    Foster effective teamwork and collaboration within the organization and with external stakeholders.
  3. Operational Planning and Management:
    Develop and implement operational plans to meet organizational goals.
    Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and accreditation standards.
    Oversee day-to-day operations and implement policies and procedures.
  4. Program Planning and Management:
    Develop and implement program goals and evaluation strategies.
    Monitor program delivery and quality assurance processes.
    Lead special projects to enhance program effectiveness.
  5. Program Development:
    Research funding opportunities and support proposal development.
    Identify and respond to community needs through program expansion and innovation.
  6. Human Resource Planning and Management:
    Foster a positive work environment and ensure compliance with legislation.
    Recruit, train, and supervise staff, volunteers, and students.
    Provide ongoing support and professional development opportunities.
  7. Financial Planning and Management:
    Prepare and manage departmental budgets in collaboration with Finance.
    Monitor financial performance and approve expenditures.
  8. Risk Management:
    Identify and mitigate risks to ensure the safety and well-being of clients and staff.
    Liaise with relevant stakeholders to address potential risks and compliance issues.
  9. Strategic Planning:
    Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of Coast’s Operational Plan.
    Communicate priorities to internal and external stakeholders.
  10. Related Responsibilities:
    Participate in policy development and accreditation processes.
    Support special projects and initiatives as directed by the Executive Director.
Training & Knowledge:

Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Social Work, Business Management, or related field.
Ability to provide/obtain the following upon hire: Certificates in First Aid + CPR, WHMIS & Crisis Management Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Clearance Covid-19 Vaccination Status
Sound understanding of mental health treatment modalities, legislation, and financial management.

Experience Requirement:

7-10 years of experience in Supported Housing.
5+ years of supervisory experience.

Salary Range:

$94,265 midpoint 117,842 and range max 135,506
The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full-time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements. The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.
