- Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- Analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
- Monitors and tracks performance and addresses any issues.
- Identifies and exams opportunities of IT infrastructure/tooling improvement, business growth use cases, leveraging emerging technologies.
- Research, tests, and documents emerging technology capabilities internally and/or in conjunction with outside ecosystem partners. Understand both technological capabilities and business use cases in the context of BMO operation.
- For new technology solutions under experimentation, work with architecture and engineering team to exam; system-operating capacity (such as bandwidth, disk space, storage, and CPU utilization), solution scalability, flexibility, and supportability based on current BMO tech stack.
- Evaluates and recommends emerging technologies to influence the design process.
- Identifies opportunities to strengthen the capability of the technology organization at BMO, such as: sharing expertise to promote technical development, mentoring employees, building communities of practice and networks across technology.
- Stays abreast of industry technical and business trends through participation in professional associations, practice communities & individual learning.
- Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Thinks creatively and proposes new solutions.
- Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
- Works mostly independently.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Typically, 7-10 years of work experience in IT or business environment and/or BS/BA or MBA/MS in computer science, engineering, information systems, math or business
- Strong academic background or exposure to various evolving and emerging technologies (Cloud, Ai, API, blockchain, digital assets, IoT, W3, etc.)
- Expert knowledge of computer or network systems hardware and software theory, practice, concepts and technology relevant to organizational vision.
- Sufficient business knowledge to assess impact of applied technology on customer’s business processes.
- Knowledge of project management methodology and its applicability to successful delivery of technical change.
- Understands the strategic technical direction of; middleware, continuous Integration and continuous deployment, testing, systems management, enterprise data & access layers, and pertinent styles of computing,
- Possesses a deep understanding and problem-solving ability of various complexities.
- Expert knowledge in the techniques that go into producing designs of complex systems, including requirements discovery and analysis, formulation of solution context, identification of solution alternatives and their assessment, technology selection, and design configuration.
