Director, Facilities Management

**Position Summary... **:The Director, Facilities Maintenance is accountable for the efficient maintenance of all store & office properties across Canada. This position is responsible to improve asset value and company profitability by directing the development of best practices, innovation, strong vendor management, and executional excellence across preventative maintenance, repair and service programs for properties, equipment and janitorial as well as achieving corporate sustainability goals in the Residual Waste Diversion. Responsible to ensure and adhere to all applicable company policies and regulatory standards and to ensure all work is complete in accordance with relevant timelines and budgets. Responsible for the engagement and management of a large contingent of external technical experts to the same goals as the internal team.
**What you'll do...**:
1. Develop detailed capital and expense budgets and execution plans for Facilities Maintenance, Mechanical Equipment, Janitorial & Residuals Diversion areas, including 5 year, annual planning and monthly reporting to plans. Develop and Present regular updates to sr. leadership on budget justification and monthly / quarterly reporting.
2. Accountable for the bidding and negotiation of all preventive maintenance, repairs and service contracts. Including development, tracking & performance management of appropriate KPI, regular leadership updates, advancing innovation & execution improvements with each Vendor. Ensure that property, building and equipment preventive maintenance programs are effectively managed and executed to remain in full compliance with corporate policies and applicable industry and regulatory quality, occupancy, health and safety standards.
3. Collaborate with International & US Maintenance counterparts and internal teams on best practices
4. Perform systematic regulatory audits to review and report on compliance with standardized procedures, provincial / federal health & safety codes for all assets. Develop and implement cost saving measures to improve value of corporate assets (properties/equipment), capital replacement strategies, as well as effective store associate and management Education Programs in maintaining facilities and equipment with goal of extending the useful life of all asset.
5. Collaborate with Construction, Design, Real Estate and Store Set-up teams to identify and evaluate new methods and materials for site and building design and develop end to end solutions that include full life cycle of stores with lowest end to end cost considerations.
6.Oversee the maintenance of Home Office Facilities, surrounding property and related equipment to ensure their efficient operation and compliance with all corporate and regulatory standards.
7. Ensure waste separation and recycle programs are developed and executed in all facilities to effectively reduce waste and reduce costs and increase recycle income. Direct the efforts of the Residuals Diversion team in the development, execution and progress status reporting of programs related to the Company’s sustainability goals to reduce waste to zero.
8. Accountable for hiring, developing, training and coaching team members to execute Facilities Maintenance, Residuals Diversion and Energy Efficiency programs. Collaborate with internal and external multidisciplinary areas to resolve program implementation issues.
**Qualifications**
- Extensive knowledge of building design, construction, and engineering systems
- Familiarity with relevant government legislation on Environmental Health and Safety
- Proficiency in CAD software, spreadsheets, and analytical software
- Understanding of building and service contracts, and contracting processes
- Minimum of 8 years of people management experience in Facilities leadership.
