The HR Business Partner will work with leaders and their respective teams directly to define and implement people strategies that are aligned with business plans to grow and evolve the business. This individual will possess a broad generalist background across all functional areas of HR (engagement, staffing, talent management, compliance, employee relations, total rewards, leadership development, etc.) to drive organization effectiveness and enable business results.
As an HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for managing the full life cycle of the employment experience. You will work to drive and consult with the business on employment related matters, which will require having a thorough understanding of the business needs and having a strong influence with employment decisions that further develops our talent and ‘benchstrength’. This role is an integral part of the Human Resources team, acting as a connection point between the business leaders and the implementation of employment strategies and practices. Establish a partnership with the management team in order to meet business objectives and more specifically planning and resource development, reporting to the Director, Human Resources.
Working in a complex and fast-paced environment, the HR Business Partner acts as the ambassador for the HR function with the business, helping them understand enterprise wide priorities and governance standards, helping HR ensure that the needs of the business are given the right level of prioritization. This role acts as the conscience of the company in the business, helping leaders bring to life Varicent’s mission, vision and values.
What You’ll Do:
- Act as an HR Business Partner (HRBP) Manager to various client groups
- Coach employees and leaders on employment related matters and coordinate ER issues
- Identify process and compliance gaps in global HR practices, and work with HR Leadership to build action plans to address the development of HR policies and HR best practices.
- Partner closely with the Director, Human Resources and the HR team to support rollout of ongoing programs and other initiatives across Varicent (i.e. Performance Management, Compensation Planning, Stock Option Program etc.)
- Drive an exceptional employee experience by fostering a culture of inclusion whereby all employees feel involved, valued and respected
- Work with the Director, HR to navigate various HR Projects that support the rapid growth of Varicent across the globe.
- Ensure that the interests of employees and the company are considered in accordance with HR policies and applicable local government laws and regulations. The company has a Global presence.
- Maintain a finger on the pulse of employee engagement and brings forward insights to the HR leadership team.
- Interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and partner with the other member of the HR team to support the business
- Build relationships with business leaders and employees, gaining trust and credibility with key stakeholders
- Help to develop processes, practices and ways of working
- Partner with managers to build KPIs to help optimize their team’s engagement and productivity
- Partner with managers and broader HR team to resolve sensitive employee-relations situations
- Coach, counsel and guide management on the execution of performance management, feedback, and follow-up
What You Bring:
- A minimum of 5-7 years’ Human Resources experience, supporting technology industry but also having worked with a company practicing best-practices in HR, would be an asset
- Bachelor’s degree and equivalent in human resources/business management
- Strong change agent with the ability to deal with competing priorities and be able to manage time appropriately; strong personal organization effectiveness and strong project management skills
- Excellent relationship management and influencing skills with a focus on delivering value added client experience
- Bring your high energy and problem-solving skills to remove barriers and accelerate performance
- Good knowledge of employment law in Canada, and familiarity with employment law in other countries in which we operate (US, UK, Romania and Australia especially)
