This is a rare opportunity to be a key leader in a growing global city. The General Manager, Finance and Supply Chain Management & Chief Financial Officer (General Manager & CFO) plays a pivotal role in the city's financial health and operational efficiency, enabling outstanding service and world-class infrastructure and amenities for generations. This role drives strategic financial management, optimizing resources to support city planning, infrastructure, and housing initiatives. Reporting to the City Manager, the General Manager & CFO is the primary advisor to City Council and the City Leadership team regarding management of the City’s finances.
By overseeing a broad portfolio that includes finance, supply chain, and procurement, the GM/CFO’s responsibilities include complex financial planning, investment management, budgeting, and partnering with operational departments to ensure effective resource allocation and expenditure management. Additionally, the General Manager & CFO leads efforts to improve financial systems and reporting. Internally, the General Manager & CFO has a significant focus on employee engagement and team effectiveness, fostering collaboration across silos and leveraging opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation. Externally, they play a regional, provincial and national role in securing sustainable funding and working to address major issues affecting urban areas.
