**ABOUT THE JOB**:
The SPLP Special Projects Coordinator leads educational and knowledge translation initiatives relating to suicide prevention & life promotion. The SPLP Special Projects Coordinator reports to the Associate Director, Suicide Prevention & Life Promotion.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Update, adapt, and follow relevant project charters, project plans, content calendars, budgets, and schedules associated with initiatives such as the Safer Suicide Care Initiative and the AgLife Network.
- Select and follow project management methods, procedures, quality objectives, and track metrics for assessing progress.
- Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with numerous stakeholders and partners including BC’s Regional Health Authorities, project funders (ex. Ministry of Mental Health & Addictions), individuals with lived and living experience of suicide, CMHA BC colleagues, and more.
- Vet all project materials for quality, accuracy, and alignment with CMHA BC values.
- Support third-party evaluation process, supporting contractor with stakeholder/partner coordination and removing barriers to effective evaluation.
- Assess variances from the project plans, budgets and schedules and implement changes as necessary to ensure that the project remains within specified scope, timelines, and cost.
- Use appropriate tools to report on project metrics and progress.
- Represent projects and present at roundtables, and similar as needed.
- Contribute to the production of curriculum content and course facilitation as needed.
- Coordinate suicide prevention education sessions with relevant stakeholders and partners - this involves assessing stakeholder/partner’s educational needs, scheduling educational offerings, coordinating use of square payment platform; and more.
- Perform other related duties as required.

**ABOUT YOU**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human and/or Social Services (e.g. Social Work, Psychology, Counselling.) or higher in a relevant discipline.
- 3-5 years demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects with diverse stakeholders/partners and dispersed teams.
- Confident public speaker with experience creating and delivering presentations for internal stakeholders, funders, and public audiences.
- Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and communication skills with a high degree of tact and discretion.
- Knowledgeable about evaluation and data collection best practices with experience analyzing data and producing reports and briefings tailored to different stakeholders/partners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Power Point and Excel.
- Exceptional technological skills with experience across learning management systems (e.g., Articulate360, Thinkific), web publishing platforms (e.g., Wordpress, Strapi), online payment platforms (ex. Square)and project management tools.
- Demonstrated experience working to provide services in a trauma-informed and culturally safe way.
- Some experience with Adobe Creative Suite or comparable design programs an asset.
- Mental health and/or suicide prevention & life promotion education/certifications (ex. ASIST, safeTALK )and/or experience working in in suicide prevention an asset.
- Lived experience related to mental health and/or substance use challenges is considered an asset.
- Successful completion of background screening checks including a criminal record check and education verification.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- The position can be based out of the CMHA BC Vancouver or Victoria office and offers the potential for a hybrid working arrangement.
- The position is part-time, and the usual workweek is 16 hours. Most work is accomplished during usual 9a.m. to 5 p.m. business hours.
- The SPLP Special Projects Coordinator role is a unionized position under the Health Science Professionals Bargaining Association Collective Agreement and the pay rate is $42.27- $52.81per hour.
