**Résumé des fonctions**

L’agent ou l’agente Marchandises dangereuses gère les activités sur le terrain, notamment les interventions d’urgence en cas d’incident mettant en cause des marchandises dangereuses ou des produits néfastes pour l’environnement, et d’autres situations d’urgence touchant les activités du CN. De plus, cette personne offre de la formation sur les interventions d’urgence et des programmes de sensibilisation, en plus de réaliser des vérifications de conformité, des inspections et des contrôles d’exécution des tâches. Le ou la titulaire du poste contribue à promouvoir le respect de la réglementation en fournissant des services de consultation à divers groupes du CN.

**Principales responsabilités**

Sensibilisation et formation
- Maintenir des relations positives avec les organismes de réglementation, les organismes publics, les clients et les partenaires du secteur
- Rencontrer différents intervenants pour discuter de la sécurité et de l’intervention en cas d’urgence lors d’incidents concernant des marchandises dangereuses
- Fournir de l’information et de la formation aux organismes d’intervention par l’engagement du CN auprès de TRANSCAER
- Aider l’Exploitation du lors des formations obligatoires sur les marchandises dangereuses

Conformité aux exigences réglementaires
- Agir à titre d’agent de liaison auprès des organismes fédéraux, provinciaux, étatiques et locaux
- Participer aux vérifications intégrées de la sécurité
- Effectuer régulièrement l’inspection des trains et des triages pour assurer la conformité réglementaire du CN
- Agir en tant qu’expert ou experte en matière de conformité réglementaire des marchandises dangereuses lors d’interventions locales

Interventions d’urgence et préparation aux situations d’urgence
- Organiser et faciliter les activités d’intervention d’urgence afin d’assurer une intervention d’urgence sécuritaire et efficace
- Intervenir lorsque nécessaire en cas d’incident et organiser des interventions tactiques et des activités d’atténuation
- Évaluer les compétences et la capacité à intervenir des entrepreneurs en intervention d’urgence
- Inspecter et faire l’entretien des outils et du matériel d’intervention d’urgence du CN
- Déployer et utiliser efficacement le matériel de l’équipe sur le terrain

Conditions de travail

Ce poste exige de travailler dans un bureau et à l’extérieur dans diverses conditions météorologiques, selon un horaire de travail normal du lundi au vendredi. La personne doit être disponible sur appel 24 heures sur 24, 7 jours sur 7 pour intervenir en cas d’incidents critiques. La personne en poste doit être disponible pour travailler le soir et les fins de semaine, au besoin. En raison de la nature du poste, la personne qui l’occupe doit être en mesure de respecter des échéanciers serrés, de bien tolérer la pression et de gérer le stress. La personne qui occupe ce poste doit porter des vêtements de protection et du matériel de protection respiratoire lorsque les conditions l’exigent et travailler dans des situations dangereuses. Des déplacements occasionnels sont requis (jusqu’à 35 %) au Canada et aux États-Unis.

**Exigences**

Expérience

Interventions d’urgence en présence de matières dangereuses
- Au moins 5 ans d’expérience pratique pertinente en intervention d’urgence en présence de matières dangereuses

Formation, certification et désignation
- Technicien en matières dangereuses
- Spécialiste expérimenté des wagons-citernes
- Diplôme d’études secondaires ou l’équivalent
- Formation en commandement d’intervention et en lutte contre les incendies d’établissement industriel
- Formation sur les liquides inflammables, la lutte contre les feux de végétation et l’utilisation des remorques à mousse*
- Baccalauréat dans le domaine de la chimie ou de la lutte contre les incendies, ou dans un domaine connexe*
- Cours avancé de spécialiste des wagons-citernes*
- Formation en commandement d’interventions et achèvement des cours NIMS 300 et 400*
- Toute désignation dans l’un des domaines ci-dessus constitue un atout
