**Overview**
We are seeking a Compliance Officer to join the Purves Redmond Limited team. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to colleagues and senior leadership on a wide range of risk and compliance matters. You will play a critical role in ensuring adherence to insurance legislation and promoting a culture of compliance across the organization.

**Accountabilities**:

- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to Canadian regulations, industry standards, and company policies
- Conduct compliance monitoring, testing, and reviews across different business units to identify potential risks and ensure adherence to regulatory obligations
- Manage regulatory reporting, including supporting regulatory examinations and liaising with governing bodies and authorities
- Collaborate with internal teams to address legal and compliance-related inquiries, ensuring accurate guidance and timely resolution
- Develop and deliver training sessions to enhance employee understanding of legal, regulatory and ethical standards
- Oversee licensing, professional standards, and disclosure processes, ensuring compliance across all lines of business
- Manage privacy and data protection obligations, ensuring adherence to relevant laws such as PIPEDA
- Monitor evolving insurance regulatory developments, identifying risks and proposing actionable solutions
- Lead or support internal investigations and regulatory inquiries, ensuring prompt and thorough responses
- Work closely with operational teams to implement process improvements that align with legal and regulatory requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a compliance, legal or regulatory role within the insurance, financial services, or a related industry
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian regulatory frameworks, insurance law, and privacy legislation, with specific expertise in brokerage-related regulations, including broker licensing, unlicensed insurance and referral fees
- Proven ability to design and execute compliance frameworks that promote ethical conduct and mitigate risk
- Strong communication skills with the ability to distil complex compliance and legal issues into clear, actionable advice for senior leadership
- Demonstrated ability to balance compliance requirements with business objectives, providing pragmatic solutions
- Experience interacting with regulatory authorities, including managing regulatory examinations, enforcement proceedings, or investigations
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand and address strategic and operational challenges in a regulated business
- Excellent judgment and decision-making capabilities, with a focus on delivering practical solutions within legal and ethical boundaries

**Job Type**: Permanent

Pay: From $130,000.00 per year
