**Here’s the job opportunity**

**This is a 14-month contract opportunity.**

The Compliance Specialist manages compliance risk with regard to legislative and regulatory changes to the organization to ensure compliance. They are also the primary administrator of the Ethidex tool that is used to update, collect control objectives, and keep a log of actions identified. They will manage the inventory within this tool.

In addition, the compliance specialist provides back up support to the AML and RCM programs.

As a Compliance Specialist for Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) you will:

- Conduct RCM oversight verifications, reviews, tests, and create test plans.
- Analyze data and information to ensure inventory of controls are kept up to date.
- Lead the issue management process including maintaining the issue log and escalate risk to ensure actions are completed.
- Develop reports to assess risk for each action item.
- Assist with Identifying and monitoring legislative and regulatory developments applicable to the insurance industry.
- Review and confirm legislative/regulatory developments and regulatory requirements (control objectives) in the company’s RCM tool.
- Assist with the creation of a risk analysis and identify impact of new legislations and regulations to ivari.
- Assist with the dissemination of compliance control objectives to business areas, including knowledge support.
- Assist the Compliance team with other tasks as may be required during the year, e.g., provide backup for other team members’ tasks when they are out of the office and carry out ad hoc assessments and reviews as may be necessary due to risks

**What we are looking for**
- 3 -5 years’ experience in a compliance role in the financial services industry is required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with data analytics and risk assessment techniques
- Preferred: experience in audit and testing
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Experience in insurance industry would be an asset
- Excellent collaborator with a proven team-oriented approach
- Insurance industry designations would be an asset
