**Job description**

We are currently searching for a committed, professional, and flexible **OUTSIDE CATERING SALES COORDINATOR**, with an immediate opening for this **FULL TIME** position.

Reporting to the Sales Event Manager, the Catering Sales Coordinator is responsible for proactively identifying and soliciting offsite and in-house catering business, through direct sales, in an effort to achieve revenue goals within assigned markets.

This SALES-FIRST position includes, but is not limited to, the following:

- Liaising with external guests and the catering sales team to coordinate and execute offsite and in-house catering events.
- Establishing and maintaining communication with the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef, as well as with Floor Managers and Event Supervisors.
- Participating in weekly Sales and Operations Meetings.
- Creating Catering Event Orders for offsite catering occurrences.
- Meeting and/ or exceeding weekly, monthly, and annual sales quotas and targets, including Booking Pace, Business Closed/ Acquired, and Tentative Prospects.
- Conducting independent market research in order to determine and recommend prospective clients.
- Actively soliciting new business by placing outside sales calls, prospecting, attending local association events, entertaining clients, and participating in trade or civic organizations in order to promote awareness of the facility and services offered.
- Negotiating contractual agreements and Requests for Proposal with potential and existing clients based upon previously-established menus as well as newly-created menus.
- Employing Alternative Dispute Resolution methods to address client issues.
- Conducting site inspections and client visits.
- Maximizing revenues during slower periods when the opportunities arise.
- Engaging in marketing strategies for the catering division, including: Search Engine Optimization, direct marketing, online sales platforms, etc.
- Promoting and encouraging inter-departmental cooperation and communication in order to improve customer service and overall satisfactions.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.

**Requirements**:
Previous sales and/ or event planning experience in a banquet, hospitality, hotel, catering, and/ or restaurant capacity is not required, however, is strongly recommended. A diploma or certificate in Event Management would be preferred, but is not required. This position does requires a strong command of the English language. Bilingualism is an asset, but is not required.

Experience and interest with Social Media Promotions and/ or promotions on various business platforms is a requirement.

**Wages & Hours of Work**

This is a full time, permanent, salaried position, based upon a 1 year initial contract. The standard ESA 3 month probationary period applies. The term of the contract is expected to begin in early February, 2018.

We offer a competitive salary (commensurate with experience), 2 weeks’ paid vacation, a Health Benefits plan, daily meals, and a professional working office environment. The position’s starting base salary will be between $42,500 and $47,500, with the potential for an increased starting salary and/ or upward advancement.

The Hours of Work will be from 9:00am

**Transportation**

We are located at 170 Colonnade Rd. in Nepean, within the Merivale Business Park. This area is mínimally accessible by public transit (with a very limited OC Transpo bus schedule). As such, access to a reliable vehicle is essential.
