**ABOUT THE ROLE**
This position is responsible for providing waste management operations support. Coordinates the ISO 9001/14001 program at the Region’s waste drop off depots, including ensuring establishment/completion of management system processes and continual improvement of programs and activities. Monitors, documents, and reports on the waste depots in preparing for the internal and external audits. Coordinates activities related to contracts. Assists with the invoice and tonnage reconciliation tasks in collaboration with other staff.
**WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING**
- Coordinates the process of identifying, developing, and reviewing of waste depot policies, programs, and Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures.
- Liaises with internal partners to identify and track of ISO 9001/14001 risks, opportunities, objectives, and targets.
- Leads waste management operations verification program for consistent operating practices and documentation across all waste management facilities, and helps to ensure compliance with site approvals, regulations/legislation, permits, licenses and IMS policies and procedures.
- Participates in annual external ISO facility audits, providing operational and contract-related data, information, tools/controls, and initiatives to auditors.
- Tracks operational data and information for compliance with ISO 9001/14001 programs and continual improvement commitments, as well as Individual Producer Responsibility and funding programs.
- Coordinates process of submitting and communicating management system and regulatory non-conformances and identified corrective actions to internal and external partners.
- Coordinates meetings with site operations contractors. Follows up on items and progress for demonstration during annual external audits.
- Leads annual review of contract and service provider performance and presents findings to support the IMS requirements.
**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**
- Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Applied Science, Environmental Science/Studies, Engineering, Business or Public Administration or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
