Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Manager to join our team. As a Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the transportation operations of our company. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods to our customers. If you have a strong background in materials management, warehouse distribution, and process improvement, we would love to hear from you.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs
- Manage and coordinate the activities of the transportation team
- Oversee the procurement of transportation services from third-party logistics providers (3PL)
- Monitor and analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination between transportation, warehousing, and other departments
- Implement and maintain a warehouse management system to track inventory and streamline operations
- Develop and manage transportation budgets
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards. IFTA etc.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including suppliers, carriers, and customers
**Skills**:
- Strong knowledge of materials management principles and practices
- Proven experience in procurement and working with third-party logistics providers (3PL)
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
- Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) or other relevant systems
- Excellent budgeting skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on process improvement
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of freight regulations and safety standards
**Salary**: $27.00-$45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 - 42 per week
