We are currently expanding our Model Plant team and are searching for a **Model Plant Coordinator**. Under the direction of the Manager, Model Plant and Test Engineering, you will work daily with technicians in the model plant to ensure that they have the information, procedures, training, and materials required to manufacture and test high quality lithium-ion cells safely. The role includes day to day coordination for work requests, supporting projects to develop and implement new model plant processes for continuous improvement, and documenting work instructions. This position provides a variety of interesting work and has ample opportunity for learning and growth.
**DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Coordination and tracking of work requests:
- Collaborate with various internal teams daily to coordinate, monitor status, and provide regular updates on work requests.
- Ensure all information and resources required to complete them are available and accurate.
- Development, implementation, and documentation of processes:
- Support projects to develop, test, and update new processes within the plant for improving operations. Consult proposed revisions with stakeholders and implement.
- Identify areas where work instructions documents are outdated or missing and write revisions.
- Training and staff development:
- Track training progress of staff in all major skills/tasks for each plant area and assist in creating training plans for new and existing employees.
- Implement methods to improve existing training process and records.
- Safety:
- Run quarterly department safety meeting and create agenda, minutes, and actions.
- Assist in following up on safety concerns, safety investigations and risk assessments that impact model plant staff and operations.
- Inventory management:
- Submit purchase requests to SAP and track the status of model plant orders.
- Support projects to set up and maintain a model plant inventory system. The system includes handling incoming inventory, restocking, storage organization and disposal.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Experience working a process/project coordinator, analyst or planner with similar variety of duties. Hands on experience in a R&D and/or manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Advanced user of MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
- Familiarity with systems like MS Planner, SAP and any resource planning software is an asset. Familiarity with data collection using database / excel tables is an asset.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience taking notes/meeting minutes and in writing/revising technical documentation.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Proven track record in working with others in different teams and seniorities to achieve shared goals. Able to work independently and proactively when provided with general goals from supervisor.
