Red Lodge Resort is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Manitou, MANITOULIN ISLAND, ON. We are currently hiring a **HEAD CHEF** to join our dynamic kitchen team You are a mature, dedicated individual with a positive attitude, creativity and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. _Weekend hours are a requirement as is reliable transportation to and from the resort or a willingness to relocate to staff quarters in the Lodge._

Our licensed, fine dining restaurant operates daily for dinner service daily from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Our lounge/pub operates daily from 11:30 am - 8pm. Seating capacity is approximately 65 persons (total).

As HEAD CHEF, you will:

- have a minimum of 5 years’ cooking experience in a commercial restaurant environment or be a graduate of a culinary program of study,
- assume responsibility for the operation of the Lodge Kitchen, including but not limited to menu development, food preparation, plating meals, planning and/or directing the preparation of staff meals.
- communicate to the Employer, the food and supplies requirements on a weekly basis,
- mentor the Sous Chef and Kitchen Helper and assisting in any other Kitchen clean up duties as reasonably required,
- maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and ensure adherence to all Food Safety, Workplace Safety and Health Standards,
- actively ensure that food waste is minimized,
- actively seek to minimize food costs while maintaining Lodge standards, as communicated to you by the Employer,
- possess a current Food Safety Certificate,
- foster a positive work environment for your staff and co-workers, recognizing that harassment in any form will not be tolerated,

Compensation:
Included in your Compensation is Room and Board during your Contract. If it is deemed that a taxable benefit exists for Room and Board, such amount will be included in the amount reported as Wages to the CRA. The amount will be the lowest, reasonable rate allowable.
