You’re ready to transform the future of clean energy by taking your advanced project management skills, extensive industry knowledge, and outstanding strategic vision to develop cutting-edge hydrogen solutions. You leverage your thorough analytical approach, confident problem-solving skills, and the insights of your teams and fellow collaborators to formulate holistic and successful project plans. With your expertise and diverse skillset, you’ll excel as our Project Development Manager.
The role joins the Project Development department; responsible for defining the driver behind why projects are done, evaluating alternatives to address the driver, and developing the best alternative into a project - ready for execution.
In this role, you’ll lead teams to understand how hydrogen-enriched natural gas will affect our assets and develop hydrogen-related projects to bring this new energy solution to fruition for our customers.
**Responsibilities**:
Build a solid understanding of our internal processes, standards, policies, and procedures.
Guide a team of experts in the detailed technical evaluation of FortisBC assets concerning hydrogen blending of various concentrations into the natural gas supply.
Lead day-to-day analysis and project development activities for hydrogen projects.
Utilize existing and new systems and tools to analyze options, manage project development financials, and monitor/report on schedule processes.
Develop business cases and project development plans for new hydrogen blending opportunities and lead various project teams through development. What it takes:
Four to eight years of recent and relevant experience with a Professional Engineer certification and eligibility for Engineers and Geoscientists of BC registration.
A Project Management Professional designation is considered an asset.
Exceptional organizational skills to keep track of the status of the various components of the works.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse team of internal technical experts, operational experts, and external consultants.
Incredible collaboration skills with a focus on providing excellent service and keeping the best interests of the customer in mind.
A demonstrated ability to take initiative and work proactively in managing your portfolio to ensure outcomes are successful.
