Oxford Food Group has an opportunity for a Production Assistant, located in Oxford, NS. The position reports directly to the Plant Supervisor.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with the plant supervisor to ensure smooth operations and achieve production targets.
- Actively participate in identifying areas for improvement in processes and procedures, providing constructive feedback on operational efficiencies and quality improvements.
- Assist in equipment set-ups and changeovers to optimize production schedules.
- Contribute to cleaning and sanitation activities to maintain a safe and hygienic work environment.
- Communicate regularly with production workers and supervisors to enhance food safety protocols, collaborate on ideas, and initiatives to improve overall safety practices and operational efficiency.
- Ensure the correct receiving of beer and oil shipments according to established procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum Grade 12
- A valid driver's license is not a requirement but would be considered an asset
- Experience in an industrial environment would be considered an asset

- Follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Possess a sense of urgency with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Must be able to work with products including but not limited to onions and wheat
- Must be able to work rotating shifts

Oxford Frozen Foods requires all employees to have an active role in organizational sustainability initiatives including,
- Correctly divert waste to support Zero Waste initiatives
- React to green wastes (wasted energy and water, air leaks, product leaks etc.) by submitting work orders for immediate repair
