**Position Overview**:
In this role, you will drive and support growth of the company's business through prospecting and development of new and existing accounts. Reporting to the Vice President, Operations - Edmonton & Ft. McMurray and working closely with the Manager of Marketing & Business Development, you will be a key member of the Business Development team.

This position is located out of Challenger's Sherwood Park office with occasional out-of-town travel required.

**General Responsibilities (not all inclusive)**:

- Systematically develop business relationships and a professional network to gather market intelligence and identify prospective clients and business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a broad network of strategic contacts within the market area including key sectors such as AEC, Construction, Utilities, Energy and Natural Resources.
- Research existing and prospective markets and clients, as well as competitors, and report findings internally to help identify specific areas of opportunity or threat.
- Represent and lead company participation in relevant conferences and trade shows, as well as association, industry, professional and other events.
- Support and coach project managers and technical staff in the development of effective business proposals and presentations that are responsive to client needs.
- Manage proposal and presentation development for key strategic opportunities.
- Assist project managers with conducting and tracking client relationship management to assess client satisfaction and identify potential areas for improvement.
- Help identify opportunities to introduce innovative new products/services to the marketplace and support go-to-market campaign development and execution.
- Contribute to identifying and developing strategically aligned partnership opportunities with businesses, Indigenous Peoples, and other organizations.
- Work closely with the Manager of Marketing & Business Development, BD team and leadership to develop and execute sales and marketing strategy, plans, and tools.
- Participate in regular BD and management meetings to report on opportunities, prospecting activities, and progress on sales and marketing campaigns and initiatives.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 3 years of sales and marketing experience, preferably related to selling professional services to the construction, energy, and natural resources sectors.
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Commerce, Business Administration, or other relevant post-secondary discipline is an asset; but an equivalent combination of education, training and experience will also be considered.
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, innovative and goal-oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including experience in writing proposals and making presentations.
- Committed to continuous improvement and professional development.

- Confident, assertive, and able to easily converse with new contacts.
- Highly energetic and enthusiastic in engaging with clients and prospects.
- Well-mannered with a professional demeanor.
- Natural ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with internal clients and stakeholders.
- High level of familiarity with social media networks, management platforms, and the execution of social media campaigns is an asset.
- An understanding of the services, clients and markets associated with land survey, remote sensing, aerial photography, mapping, etc. is a strong asset.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc. is an asset.
