The Murray Automotive Group is urgently hiring a Financial Controller for one of our dealerships in the Calgary region.

The Financial Controller is a key position in the dealership. They will be responsible for running and managing the accounting and payroll departments. The Financial Controller duties will include monthly reconciliation of accounts, as well as generating month end and year end financial statements. As part of the executive leadership team of the dealership, the Financial Controller is expected to have the teamwork and communication skills to consult and advise other team members in the areas of budgeting and financial knowledge.

**Skills and Educational Requirements**
- Previous experience in an automotive dealership or similar field is necessary.
- Advanced Accounting and Payroll knowledge in the form of either a CA designation with 3+ years experience, or 5+ years of on the job experience is necessary.
- Strategic business management in the field of budget forecasting and analysis.
- The ability to manage the human capital of the accounting department, including recruiting, training paths, performance reviews, succession planning, and discipline.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, provincial and local regulations and laws pertaining to the automotive industry.
- Ability to administer payroll.
- Ability to administer purchase orders and fixed assets.
- Ability to establish and maintain key filing systems, including financial records and employee folders.

**The Duties and Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to**:

- Provide analytical, administrative, and financial information to department managers and the Dealer.
- Complete dealership accounting and bookkeeping activities.
- Reconcile accounts at month-end.
- Use knowledge of accounting to instruct and grow the accounting team members.
- Keep up-to-date tracking of profit and loss within the dealership departments.
- Quarterly and year-end reporting.
- Punctual.
- Experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent Time management.
- Able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Team player committed to team success.
- Strong organization skills.
- A team leader with the ability to guide the dealership to it's goals.

**Physical requirements**:

- This position will occasionally require the lifting of file boxes weighing approximately 20-30 pounds.

**Requirements**:

- This position will require a criminal background check.
- Valid Alberta driver’s license is preferred.
