**Location**: South Edmonton, Alberta.
**Reports To**: Program Manager
**Position Summary**:We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated **Team Lead** to join our team at Harmonize’s Family Services Ltd. As the Team Lead, you will be responsible for providing guidance, leadership, and support to a dedicated team of frontline staff. You will work closely with key workers, overnight staff, and child/youth workers to ensure consistency in service delivery and best practices for children and youth (ages 0-21) in our care. Your role will include supervising staff, managing daily activities and schedules, maintaining proper documentation, and ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the group home. The Team Lead will play an instrumental role in delivering high-quality care and supporting our team to achieve the best outcomes for the youth we serve.
**Major Responsibilities**:
- **Staff Supervision & Support**:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor frontline staff to ensure programming and service plans are implemented effectively.
- Manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and stepping in to cover shifts as needed.
- Address day-to-day employee issues and ensure proper documentation is completed by staff.
- Oversee the responsibilities of practicum students and provide guidance when necessary.
**Client Support**:
- Deliver services in a client-centered, strength-based approach in alignment with Harmonize’s Family Services policies.
- Build positive relationships with youth, role-modeling life skills, communication, conflict resolution, and social skills.
- Support youth in achieving goals defined in individual goal plans.
- Attend appointments, hospital visits, and provide overnight support when necessary.
- Interact regularly with children, particularly those around the average age of 6, to ensure their needs are met and they feel safe, valued, and supported.
- Perform assessments to understand the needs of each kid and tailor support strategies accordingly.
- Display a caring, empathetic demeanor, and possess experience working with children in a professional capacity.
**Operational & Administrative Duties**:
- Maintain accurate daily and monthly documentation, including logbook entries, incident reports, medical binder, and other required records.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of new documentation related to daily activities and group home operations.
- Assist in managing the group's budget, coordinating service plans, and overseeing vehicle operations.
- Ensure the upkeep of the property, maintenance of cleanliness, and safe environment.
- Handle cash and receipts for the group home.
- Manage on-call responsibilities every other weekend (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday), and complete the on-call report Program Manager.
**Health & Safety**:
- Ensure that staff complete all daily and monthly cleaning tasks, maintaining a safe and secure environment for youth and staff.
- Ensure youth are aware of and comply with house rules.
**Qualifications**:
**Required**:
- A degree or diploma in a Health or Human Services field.
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities or medically fragile youth, particularly those with high behavior needs.
- Previous supervisory experience is considered an asset.
- Strong problem-solving, delegation, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Flexibility and openness to change.
- A valid vehicle operator’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Ability to provide a clear Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check and a Child Intervention Record Check.
**Preferred**:
- Degree in a Health or Human Services field.
- Certification in Suicide Intervention and Crisis Intervention Prevention.
- Previous experience in residential programs or group home settings.
