We have a Regular Full Time Professional Responsibility Concern (PRC) Advisor vacancy available in UNA's Provincial Office in Edmonton. The anticipated start date is May 13, 2024.

**Role Description**
- Working cooperatively with other staff and elected officials, the PRC Advisor is responsible for providing consultation, advisory, and advocacy services to members and Locals on the PRC process as outlined in UNA's collective agreements. The PRC Advisor is a professional position that works with significant autonomy and reports directly to the Manager of Labour Relations - Specialty Areas.

**Requirements and Qualifications**
- Baccalaureate in Nursing is required with Masters Degree in Nursing or related field is preferred.
- Eligible for/holds active registration in the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta.
- Relevant experience in either nursing education, health/nursing policy, or nursing administration.
- Advanced knowledge of the working practices and environmental conditions of nurses and their workplaces.
- Prior experience with committee work/project management is an asset.
- Relevant experience in labour relations/a union environment.

- Service-oriented, able to work effectively with stakeholders (locals and members), colleagues, peers, etc.
- Skilled at clear and tactful communication to all parties, verbally and in writing.
- Critical thinking skills which enable in-depth assessments of complex situations to identify root causes and necessary actions.
- Listening and summarizing information for reports, presenting findings in a format that is easy to understand.
- Demonstrated advocacy skills.
- Research and analysis skills.
- Working knowledge of requirements around confidentiality and maintaining privacy.
- Strategic and creative approach to problem solving, able to work with others to identify workable solutions to problems in high conflict situations.
- Communications skills and strategies that effectively manage interpersonal conflict and conflict situations with empathy.
- Conflict resolution - resilient and able to handle demanding situations which can take time to resolve.
- Experience developing and facilitating training/education.
- Articulate and confident in delivering training to large audiences both in person and virtually. Able to adjust style to the requirements of the audience.
- Using training equipment (hardware and software) to deliver curriculum.
- Effective time management and organization skills, with demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Sets effective boundaries, able to disconnect from work at the end of each day.
- Ability to manage member and local expectations.
- Working knowledge of collective agreements, labour relations legislation, health professions act, employment standards, and other relevant legislation.
- Interpret collective agreement language.
- Understands topical issues within the Canadian and Alberta Health care sector and trade unions.
- Current class 5 drivers' license required.

**Salary**: From $74.22 per hour
