- POSITION OVERVIEW

The Marketing and Communications (MarCom) Data Steward will be responsible for implementing and overseeing the data governance activities of MarCom, supporting the data community, overseeing data throughout the entire data life cycle as well as collecting and evaluating data issues.
- CHALLENGES TO BE MET Identifies, defines, and presents critical data elements and defines and monitors key data to agreed standards and quality-
- Define business rules with business stakeholders, communicate rules to business stakeholders so that data capture conforms.-
- Provide input and recommendations to data policies, standards, and procedures for business function-
- Proactively mobilize teams to meet data quality metrics such as completions, quality thresholds.Lead and play an active role in coordinating and contributing to the data management working group and to the data steward council to deliver a given mandate or resolve a data-related issues-
- Work with data governance Specialists and Data Custodians to develop and adapt the various reports and dashboards used to monitor Corporate Information Governance progress and performance.- WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management or any other related field, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.- Minimum of 5 years experience in data management / governance including data project experience.-
- Demonstrated experience with using a Data Governance / Management Platform (e.g. Collibra and Informatica data quality platform) to document business metadata.- Solid understanding of data governance principles and data management process including data management lifecycle.- Knowledge of data management and analysis (i.e., data requirements definition, business rules and metadata documentation, reference data management, value lists, data quality).- Experience in (conceptual business) data modeling.
- Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies- Strong organizational skills and ability to work on several initiatives simultaneously with tight deadlines.- Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work in a team environment, take initiative and work independently.- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to relate technical information to a non-technical audience.- Ability to evolve in a changing environment.- Strong collaboration and cooperation skills.- Bilingual (spoken/written) French and English for dealing with English-speaking partners outside Quebec.
