**Finance Division**: The Financial Services Branch provides timely guidance and advice on financial planning, contracts and reporting, operations, performance planning and administrative services while managing the ministry’s fiscal resources, comprising the following functions.

**Planning & Performance Branch**: Planning and Performance provides integrated ministry planning, performance management including preparing the Ministry Strategic/Business Plan, the Annual Report, and Performance Metrics, and provides input into the Government of Alberta Strategic Plan and Government of Alberta Annual Report. Planning and Performance is the primary liaison with the Office of the Auditor General and Corporate Internal Audit Services for performance audits.

The Planning & Performance Section is looking for an Advisor who is innovative, self-motivated and enjoys working on a variety of projects such as business planning, annual reports, and performance metric and outcomes frameworks. In addition, your communication and interpersonal skills will be key working with numerous individuals across the ministry. With a primary focus of ongoing development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of the Ministry’s performance metrics and outcomes that support the Ministry in achieving its deliverables on air, climate, water, biodiversity and protected areas.

Reporting to the Manager, Planning & Reporting, the Advisor is responsible for supporting the business planning cycle, and leading performance metric frameworks, logic models that provides the structure for collecting, managing, and using outcomes information to inform strategic planning, decision
- making and resource allocation.

This role participates on The Business Planning working group within the Government of Alberta. As a member of this group, you will share best practices, collaborate with likeminded individuals that are responsible for the Government business planning standards and practices.

As an Advisor, you will responsible for:

- Support the development, analysis, ongoing refinement of performance measures and indicators for the business plan, performance metric frameworks, and logic models.
- Ensuring appropriate integration and coordination with the program areas to provide results reporting in the ministry business plan and annual report plus additional information products as requested.
- Working closely with Office of the Auditor General (OAG) for performance metric audits during program performance audits or annual report audits.
- Management and coordination of SharePoint site to ensure information is up-to-date, relevant and accessible by users.
- Providing briefings and recommendations relating to the performance metrics and indicators.
- Drafting business plan and annual report input in accordance with Treasury Board and Finance Business Plan and Annual Report Standards to meet legislative requirements.
- Supporting project management to ensure clarity of project scope, governance, resources, deliverables/milestones and timelines, and mitigation of project risks, through the development of project charters, work plans, and project status reporting.
- Working with performance metric frameworks, policies and procedures are followed to deliver quality products.
- Having detailed knowledge of applicable and existing Legislation, Regulations and policies.

**Qualifications**:
**University Degree** preferably in business administration, public administration, commerce, political science, statistical or mathematical analysis, economic analysis/ research or related field, plus **two (2) years progressively related experience** such as coordination and development of education programs or mid to long term projects.

**Equivalency**:Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
