Why is this role important?
- Reporting to the Program Consultant, Finance Business Partner Services, the Financial Analyst will provide detailed and accurate analysis to the Finance team. Analytic focus includes project variance analysis and month-end and quarterly forecast analysis, and will support other related analytic functions as assigned.
- What you'll do
- 1. In collaboration with the Corporate Reporting and Financial Business Partner Services team, prepare quarterly accruals and related journal entries, and create and maintain backup documentation with completeness and accuracy.
- 2. Analyze financial results and provide value-added insights to the Finance Business Partner Team related to rent analysis, revenue trend analysis and software and maintenance account analysis.
- 3. Perform routine and periodic financial analysis/reconciliation of specific expense accounts. Additional month-end duties include updating contract staff commitments.
- 4. Performs monthly corporate credit card reconciliation.
- 5. Update Amazon Web Services (AWS) prepaid and related entries, reconcile balance/credits to ensure balance with the AWS monthly statements.
- 6. Coordinate the year-end prepaids tracking for Health Canada Reporting purposes.
- 7. Generate monthly/budget financial statements, budget templates and variance reports as needed.
- 8. Maintain a very good knowledge of CIHI policies, procedures, products, and services as well as provincial/federal sales tax legislations.
- 9. Process monthly reports from the time-entry/project performance management (Eclipse PPM) tool to support special purpose funding program analysis.
- 10. Perform other related duties as required.
- What you'll bring to the table
- University Degree in Business Administration or Commerce with a major in accounting. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. An accounting designation is an asset.
- Three years of relevant accounting experience, including demonstrated technical aptitude with an Enterprise Resource Planning tool. Experience with Unit 4 ERP is an asset.
- Strong financial analytical skills.
- Works effectively and collaboratively a team environment as well as independently.
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Fluency in English is required, bilingualism is an asset.
