The Department of Anthropology is concerned with the unity and diversity of humanity, human culture, and society from a comparative and global perspective. Under the supervision of a Principal investigator, the Research Officer will manage a project portfolio of nutrition monitoring research to ensure quality activities and timely deliverables to research sponsors, supporting the development of nutrition monitoring research programs at the University of Toronto, overseeing daily research program activities, and liaising with academic units, external partners, knowledge users and community stakeholders.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Liaising with academic units and stakeholders to support research funding initiatives
- Developing project schedules including milestones, critical path, timelines, deliverables and reporting
- Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
- Researching, analyzing and recommending grant opportunities
- Analyzing detailed statistical information to inform project direction
- Fostering stakeholder engagement and maintaining relationships with project partners
- Overseeing data collection, analysis processes, and reporting
- Directing the activities of casual staff

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Master's Degree in Global Health, Food Security, and Nutrition
- Minimum of five (5) years experience leading a multi-component, large-scale, maternal and child nutrition and health research project activities in the global south.
- Experience leading management and administration of such research projects and overseeing the day-to-day work of the project.
- Demonstrated an understanding of developing and implementing international partnerships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated an understanding of the humanitarian system, principles and key relief sectors (e.g. strong knowledge of and demonstrated experience with the cluster approach to coordination and response).
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Strong technical understanding of a range of rigorous monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) methods
- demonstrated experience with qualitative or quantitative approaches.
- Demonstrated practical expertise in developing logic models, performance measurement frameworks, project schedules, data collection and analysis for measuring reach and impact, developing feedback mechanisms, managing studies and evaluations, and performance/effectiveness.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (verbal and written). Proficient in English and French.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet strict and competing deadlines.
- Ability to foster positive relationship with various groups
- Experience supervising research staff and the ability to successfully work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in MS Office, web-based research; knowledge of MEAL-related software an asset.
