**Job Description**:
Under the administrative direction of the Chair of Community Studies department, the Program Support Officer is responsible for providing administrative support to the Chair, Community Studies as well as support to the staff working within, and support to the students enrolled, in Community Studies programs.

Under the direction of the Chair, this position is responsible for coordinating and scheduling departmental meetings and other meetings both internal and external as well as planning and carrying out administrative activities including preparing correspondence, minutes, and reports frequently of a confidential, strategic and/or specialized nature. As well, they will coordinate the onboarding process for new faculty and staff, assist with part time contracts, and review part-time payroll.

Additionally, acting as liaison, the incumbent collaborates with the Chair, Coordinators, Curriculum Office and the V.P. Academic Office to establish changes required for the Annual Curriculum Review process for multiple programs within the department. The incumbent also completes all book orders for the department in coordination with faculty.

Duties and Responsibilities:- Coordinates internal and external meetings for department; records and distributes minutes of such meetings;- Processes biweekly part time payroll;- Supports part time contract generation and onboarding of new employees- Assists with Annual Curriculum Review;- Coordinates textbook orders each term;- Works closely with Advancement Services on annual Community Studies student awards;- Covers front desk/reception as required.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) year diploma in Business Administration, Office Administration - Executive, or equivalent education;- Minimum three (3) years of relevant practical work experience in the office administration/clerical field;- Experience using MS Office, with proficiency in Excel at intermediate level;- Experience in minute-taking and business writing - including proofreading and excellent attention to detail;- Experience working with a student information system (SIS) in a post-secondary environment;- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
