The role is responsible for managing the procurement and/or implementation of Transportation projects through Public-Private Partnerships (P3).

To be successful in this role, the Project Manager brings substantial experience with the management and delivery of major transportation/highways projects. Hands-on design and/or construction experience on MTO projects is preferred.

**What You Will Do**:

- Manage the procurement and implementation of major highway projects through Public-Private Partnerships (P3).
- Manage relationships with various groups of internal and external stakeholders to identify issues related to staging, procurement, government approvals, relationship management and other commercial issues.
- Develop and implement risk identification, assessment and identifying mitigation measures, specific to commercial issues in any phase of the project.
- Manage projects from Pre-transaction, Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) stage during procurement and through construction, commissioning to the final transfer of responsibility to operations.
- Support the Director and Executives on the overall management of a major Project (or group of Projects) which includes providing commercial advice on contracts and developing commercial strategy for successful project execution.
- Provide project management and liaise with the technical team and consultants, as required, throughout the planning, procurement, design, and construction phases of a project.

- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) recognized by the Province of Ontario or equivalent.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an asset.
- Substantial experience with management and delivery of major transportation/highways projects, with hands-on design and/or construction experience on MTO projects strongly preferred.
- Completion of post-secondary education in Engineering or other relevant discipline.
- Experience in delivering projects using alternative delivery models such as Design-Build-Finance-Maintain (DBFM), Design-Build-Finance (DBF), Progressive Design-Build (PDB), and traditional delivery models such as Design-Bid-Build (DBB) and Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC)
- Knowledge of construction management practice, contract law, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Construction Act, and the Ontario Provincial Standards for Roads and Public Works (OPS)
- Strong business acumen, communications, problem solving and influencing skills to establish effective working relationship.
- Advanced presentation, consultation, negotiation, influencing and consensus building skills are required.
- Sound stakeholder management skills and experience finding positive solutions to complex issues with clients and diverse teams of project consultants and specialists.
- Solid experience dealing with project budget, schedule, claims, and technical requirements as well as financial and legal matters.
- Experience negotiating claims, scope changes and other compliance and contractual matters on major projects is preferred.
