We are seeking an experienced **Rent Bank Case Worker** to join our Rent Bank team. Using your advanced administration, organization and people skills, you would be joining a team that is responsible for the successful delivery of the North Shore Rent Bank Program. This program, in association with the BC Rent Bank, offers a no-interest long-term loan to qualifying low-income residents of the North Shore who are experiencing a temporary financial crisis that could affect housing stability and/or essential services.

**Responsibilities**
- acting as the point person for all assigned Rent Bank activities and managing the Rent Bank case load
- screening potential applicants for suitability for the Rent Bank program
- administering loans and processing grants
- providing general administration support to the team as required

**Education and Experience**

Post-secondary education (diploma, degree) in a related field (administration, business, social sciences) would be preferred

Bookkeeping or accounting experience is an asset (QuickBooks and business online banking)

2 years of administration experience

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong quantitative skills, with high attention to detail
- Bookkeeping or accounting experience is an asset (QuickBooks and business online banking)
- Familiarity with Moneris, and on-line donor platforms such as Charitable Impact, Canada Helps
- Financial literacy; knowledge of rent bank operations is an asset
- Strong and effective people skills: accessible, non-judgmental, team experience, coaching
- Able to work independently and as a team contributor
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of multicultural and multi-faith stakeholders including volunteers, staff, donors, board members, and the general public
- Demonstrate care and support for the success of others, including vulnerable individuals
- Ability to provide direction, supportive guidance and feedback to volunteers and others as required
- Training and experience in conflict management and crisis intervention is an asset
- Experience providing services for at-risk and/or marginalized populations
- Experience in a non-profit organization is an asset
- Ability to function effectively in difficult and/or crisis situations
- Knowledge of local community resources is an asset

**Additional Requirements**
- Signatory to or acknowledgement and respect for Harvest Project’s Statement of Faith
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search required
- Commitment to 37.5 hours per week, divided between rent bank work (around 30 hours) and administration (around 7.5 hours)
- This is an “in office” position
- Harvest Project reserves the right to make changes to this role profile, based upon operational needs

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
